Mary Is still in DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, VA.   Room 2206.

She will not be released until the first of the week.   They had to cut her  to remove the polup instead of the original plans to insert 4 holes to remove it.

She is in some pain, but is sounding better each time that I talk with her.

I will keep you posted on her progress!

Mary Richards had surgery today at DePaul Hospital.  They removed a polyp from her colon.   They would rather remove the polyp this way than with a colonoscopy which is the way it is usually done.  The doctor feels that this was the safest way to remove the polyp and they already knew that the polyp is not cancer.

She came through the operation and is resting. It looks like everything is okay.    They will keep her over night and if all goes well, she should be able to come home either late tomorrow or Thursday.

Cards can be sent to

6351 Tappahannock Drive

Norfolk, VA 23509

I am sure by Friday, she should be up to phone calls:  757-961-5692

As I know more information, I will let you know

Robin his home from the hospital – came home earlier this week.  She is taking it easy but doing fine.  If you call her, please keep the calls short as she must get her rest.  She is on plenty of meds.  She will be back to see the doctor next week.

Lorna Boulieu has had heart surgery – she is at Riverside Hospital in Newport News.  No word on how she is doing but the operation went okay.  They are now concerned about her kidneys.

Will keep you posted on any updates as they come through

Just got back home from visiting Robin in the Hospital.  She is out of the Critical Care Coronary unit and in a regular room down the hall.

She is sitting up – looks good – and already joking and laughing with the nursing staff and doctors.

She is getting back to her usual self quite well and has a great outlook and positive attitude.

While there, she stood up with the help of a walker and took several steps which the nurses said was good.  If all goes well, Robin will be released from the hospital this coming week and be home than go to cardiac rehab.

In addition to Ski and Venner (her husband and son) her mother and sister are also here which is a great help to Robin.

Keep Robin in your prayers.  Her son will be leaving this coming week for Washington DC where he will be a page for one of the Congressmen.  He is very excitied.

All,

Spoke to Robin’s husband this afternoon.  Robin came through the triple bi-pass surgery very well

The doctor was able to repair the damages.  There were no surprises when he went in.

Robin is sleeping comfortably now and still under the anesthesia.

She is expected to be taken off the ventilator this evening and probably to sit up tomorrow.

If all goes well, she will be recover for 3-5 days in the hospital and then be sent home.

Ski (her husband) will keep me informed as to how she is doing.  I expressed that all of the Ladies in Virginia said prayers for her.

Please do not try to call the house at this time as Ski, Robin’s mother, sister and son are visiting her when they can and resting when they get home

I will keep all informed as to the status.

Doc & I visited her Wednesday afternoon.  Peggy fractured her right wrist, right pelvis and right ankle in a fall in front of her home on Sunday.  Surgery replaced the right pelvis and repaired the ankle and wrist.  The wrist is wrapped in an ace bandage until the swelling goes down.  She will be in the hospital and then the rehabilitation unit for a total of 6 weeks.  She is sorry to miss the June convention.  She was in good spirits when we saw her, but we did not stay long.  Prayers would definitely help.  She liked the card I gave her.

Kim got a call from Debbie, so I’m getting this all second hand…..Buddy came through the surgery fine, he’ll be in the hospital 7-14 days and then released, he’ll be able to travel a couple of days after that.  They think they got all the cancer.  He was in intensive care yesterday and should have been put in a regular room last night.  The hospital room number and address will follow as soon as I hear from Debbie again.
